Their vivid, almost translucent crimson shell sets them apart from standard red cherry shrimp, making them a favorite among aquascaping enthusiasts. These shrimp are a selectively bred variant of Neocaridina davidi – the same species as Sakura Red Cherry Shrimp – but with an even richer and more saturated red hue.
Care requirements for Bloody Mary Shrimp are very similar to other Neocaridina shrimp. When kept in clean, stable water within recommended parameters, they will thrive and breed readily, forming a vibrant and active colony. Like all dwarf shrimp, a group of Bloody Mary Shrimp serves as an efficient cleaning crew, feeding on algae, biofilm, and leftover food, helping to maintain a healthy tank environment.
